SCHOOL INTERNSHIP PHASE II - Biweekly Report 1

BIWEEKLY REFLECTION -1 (Week 1&2) 

As part of BEd curriculum we teacher trainees of Rv training college were sent to different schools for school internship. The second phase of my school internship was in RVVHSS Valakom. As per the instructions of our principal we went to school on 02/06/23 for asking permission to practice teaching in schools. The teachers distributed portions to be taught during the practice. We prepared lesson plans and activity materials in the successive days and was verified by our optional teacher Manju ma'am. We tried to prepare the maximum possible number of lesson plans during these days. 

The first day of our teaching practice was on 07/06/23 Wednesday. We reached the school on time and signed the attendance register.we were allocated a room in the ground floor. I got substitution in the 8 th class and as per timetable I taught the 9 A students the chapter Structure of atom. 
The second day (8/6/23)  was another exciting day. I and my Colleague Anjana consulted our concerned teacher Jayaprakash sir and submitted our records for verification. Also we consulted Aruna ma'am for clearing our doubts. I started the chapter ' Units and measurements' in the 8 th A. The students are active while participating  in experiments. On 9/6/23  I got substitution in 9 A in thei physical education period. I engaged them through a learning activity. On all days during free hours i have prepared lesson plans and activity aids for the upcoming lesons. And also tried to check whether there is any vacant classes. 


              The second week was peaceful. Rather than the first week the work has increased to double.But as planned the lessons and activities are successfully completed. On each day i tried to reach the school on time . in addition to the normal 4 periods in a week I got 10 substitution periods in various classes. In the classes  I am talking regular calsses I have utilized those periods for content transaction. In the other classes  i engaged the students through some academic activities during the extra substitution periods also utilised those periods for distribution of their notes. 
             On Thursday there was a morning assembly conducted by 9 A students. In that assembly the Head master and principal addressed the students and provided instructions for maintaining discipline and campus cleanliness. Before talking classes of the week we consulted Jayaprakash sir and Aruna ma'am for verifying our lesson plans and for necessary advises. During the free hours I have prepared lesson plans and activity aids for the upcoming lessons.

Week 3( 19/6/23-22/6/23)   Another exciting week with rich experiences. The reading day and international Yoga day celebrations were part of this week.  There was a morning assembly on 19/6/2023 which lasted till 10.20 am as part of reading day celebrations. The program includes speech, song, biography presentation, book introduction etc. Shibu sir and Kala ma'am addressed the crowd and delivered speech on the importance of the day. Also the new strategy ' My birthday my book', releasing of magazine of 10 B students 'Inspira' were introduced in the program As other days tuesday was normal day . Even though i don't have period as per timetable I got substitutions.  On 21 /6/2023 the international Yoga day was well celebrated in the school under the guidance of school principal Suresh sir. WEEKLY REFLECTION -WEEK 7

Week 7 (19/7/23-22/7/23 )  The week was peaceful. From 20/7/2023 unit test started. The unit test is conducted as two shifts. Morning session starts from 9 . 15 to 10 and evening session from 3.15 to 4.We were assigned exam duty in both the sessions.  On 21/7/23 we along with Aruna ma'am and Sunil sir conducted quiz as part of the chandrayan Day  celebrations. Akshay from 8 th B scored first in the quiz.   In order to compensate the working days saturday was working in this week. By this week I have completed 27 lesson plans. Also I have conducted a the pre test in 9 th A as part of my project work on 22/7/23.And the data collection was done.  During the free time i have prepared module for conducting an awareness program in the upcoming week.

CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME

Capacity building programme Capacity building programme is a process of developing and strengthening the skill and attitude. The training of teachers one of the pillars of the sustainable development and national capacity building or any society. The programme of capacity building helps to increase the confidence level and it helps to increase the co operation and interaction among the peers.  One day workshop on 'Stress management' organized by department of general education conducted by Sri. Bhrahma Nayakom Mahadevan was our capacity building programme. It was conducted on 7/11/2022 from 2 pm to 4.30 pm.  The session was very interactive and he conducted some interesting activities, it engaged all the students.
